In January 2022, Scottish Government released Phase 2 of the Women’s Health Plan. The ambition remains the same – to ensure all girls and women in Scotland enjoy the best possible health with a focus on decreasing inequalities and maintaining health throughout the life course.
Within Phase Two there are four new key priority programmes that are at the forefront of this work:
• Transforming gynaecology services to ensure women and girls have timely access to gynaecological
care;
• Eliminating cervical cancer;
• Improving support and understanding of women’s brain health;
• Using innovation to ensure women and girls have access to the best quality care.
In NHS Lothian, we have identified our year 1 actions in our action plan below.
This 2 minute video by the SHIFT project was developed by young women and professionals. It shows how young women can experience health care and what professionals can do to improve how young women experience health care.
