Freedom of Information (FOI) NHS Lothian | Our Organisation

Freedom of Information (FOI)

If your enquiry is to do with your GP or information that you think your GP might hold, please contact them directly. If you require information about yourself or your medical records, please use the Data Protection Act Form.

The Freedom of Information (FoI) Act came into effect on 1st January 2005, ushering in a new era for the public sector in Scotland and making public services more transparent than ever before.

The FoI Act gives people new rights to access recorded information held by public authorities.

NHS Lothian policy is to publish responses to requests for information under the FoI Act. You will find the responses on this page by clicking on the Request and Responses Register.

If you cannot find what you are looking for on our website, then the Requesting Information facility gives more information about making a Freedom of Information request.
