This webinar focusses on Green Theatres, an area where NHS Lothian has made considerable progress since the publication of our Sustainable Development Framework and Action Plan this time last year. More recently the draft NHS Scotland Strategy has proposed a national Green Theatres programme. At the webinar we heard more about what is planned nationally and local progress in developing this important aspect of developing sustainable models of care.
Dr Jane Hopton, Programme Director and Lead for Sustainability at NHS Lothian chaired the webinar and speakers included:
• Dr Kenneth Barker, Consultant Anaesthetist at NHS Highland and member of the Board of the Scottish Anaesthetics Group, is involved in developing the national Green Theatres plans and in developmental work at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
• Dr Andrew Goddard, Consultant Anaesthetist at NHS Lothian, is involved in our Greener Theatres Group and is developing innovative approaches, such as the maternity gas and sustainability work at St. John’s Hospital.
