This webinar is titled: ‘Environmental Management in the NHS, the role of the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and Public Health: Understanding NHS Lothian’s full environmental footprint and why it matters.’
We discuss topics including NHS Lothian’s Environmental Management System that was introduced last year. Daniel Mill gives a brief overview of the system, update on how it’s gone so far and how we move forward to ensure we’re meeting legislation and then moving to continuous improvement in reducing our impacts on the environment.
We also hear from Dr Harpreet Kohli, who is Deputy Chair of SEPA. As Dr Kohli was also a Director of Public Health in an NHS Board, he’s an ideal person to speak about the need for SEPA and the NHS to work together, given the importance of all our impacts on the environment: air quality, water, land.
We all have a lot to learn and think about, so listen to the discussion and reflect on how your role might impact on the environment and how environmental harm can impact on health.
The webinar is hosted by Jane Hopton, NHS Lothian Sustainability Lead.
