On Thursday 29 July at 1pm NHS Lothian hosted a Sustainability Webinar which wass open to all NHS Lothian staff to attend.
This webinar focussed on what is changing in Primary Health Care – the part of NHS Lothian that for most people is their first point of contact. They looked at two examples which highlighted the challenges faced and progress made in changing the way we do things in Primary Health Care in Lothian.
They heared about the journey from one GP practice – St Triduana’s in Edinburgh – about the challenges they faced in ‘Going Green’ and how they overcame them.
Prescribing in primary care is a major contributor to our carbon footprint. Inhaler prescribing is a known contributor to our carbon footprint. There was focus on how we can deliver greener healthcare which provides high quality patient centred care and improves the environmental impact of inhalers.
