Their views and support are extremely valuable, so that we can continue to make improvements at the Western General for the benefit of everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have an enquiry about the redevelopment works at the Western General Hospital please email:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:loth.wghcommunications@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk\">loth.wghcommunications@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-nhsl-document-list\" data-folderid=\"9\" data-title=\"Community Newsletters\" data-sort=\"4\">Loading &#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Initial Agreement: Background<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The proposal (Initial Agreement) for the new cancer care centre was informed by considerable engagement with patients, the public and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consultation events were held in November 2019, which were attended by over 160 people including those who use the hospital and community representatives.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The events showcased the ambitious programme of building works and service redesign scheduled to take place over the coming years. They also gave people an insight into the hospital\u2019s long-term \u2018Site Vision\u2019 to ensure the delivery of high quality and sustainable health services at the Western until 2045.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both events gave people the chance to share their views and ideas on how the Western General Hospital should develop in the future, help shape plans for the site and have their say on what the hospital should look and feel like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feedback from the events, including conversations, completed questionnaires and views posted on social media, were summarised into issues and themes.
